Marion County, where Indianapolis is located, accounted for half of the murders in the state, even though it has less than 10% of the population. Milwaukee was responsible for 201 of Wisconsin’s 308 murders even though it also has less than 10% of the population. The 1% include Philadelphia, New York City, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Dallas, D.C., Miami-Dade, Milwaukee, San Diego, St. Louis, Chicago, Houston, Detroit, Memphis, Phoenix, Cleveland, and many others.
