- We have news! Aria Elaine Jewelry will halting production for a few months to focus on our newest upcoming addition to the family. That right, we're pregnant! While jewelry smithing is still possible if proper procedures are taken, we feel it's best not to take chances. The product on our website will still be available for purchase during this time. - Tanzanite in 14K Gold!
Tanzanite is found in only one place on earth - the hills of Merelani in northern Tanzania in Eastern Africa. It is a bluish purple variety of the mineral ziosite and was discovered only recently in 1967. When faceted, as in this case, it becomes Pleochroic. This means when you shift the gem around, you'll see 3 different colors from 3 different directions!

The range between soldering temperature and melting temperature is finite and it is easy to overheat a section and melt it. It still happens to me occasionally if I'm not paying attention. I've been silversmithing for about 2 years now, focusing more on it this year, and I'm completely self-taught.
