You have to start somewhere.  If you do not have a VA.gov account, start it now. https://www.va.gov/ Can you give me any logical reason not to?   I personally use the ID.me login.  Likely all of them work well, the ID.me one I have linked to a few other secure pages for discounts and veteran benefit opportunities.
